Good value for new glasses

I was looking for some new prescription glasses and found Alexander Daas. I signed up for their newsletter and got a discount on my first purchase, which helped a lot. I got a pair of Mykita Lite frames with single vision lenses. The whole process was smooth and the frames feel really well-made. Definitely felt like I got good value for my money.

Always reliable, great frames

This was my fourth time ordering from Alexander Daas. I picked up a pair of Gold and Wood frames with progressive lenses this time. Just like my previous orders, the quality was consistent and the prescription was spot-on. They really are reliable.

Love my new Vuarnet sunglasses!

Oh my goodness, I just received my Vuarnet sunglasses and I'm absolutely obsessed! They're even better in person than online. The quality is incredible and they feel so sturdy. I'm already planning my next purchase; I want some new blue light blocking lenses. I'm telling everyone about this place!

Nice Celine sunglasses, slow shipping

I bought a pair of Celine sunglasses. They are really chic and well-made, exactly what I expected from a luxury brand. The ordering process was easy enough. My only minor issue was the shipping; it took about 8 days to reach me in Florida. I know it's coming from California, but I've had faster shipping from other places. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the delay, which was a plus. Overall, I'm happy with the product.

Got my Tom Ford glasses

So I finally got around to getting some new glasses. Picked out some Tom Ford ones, classic look. They fit great, super comfy. Came pretty quick too, like within a week. No complaints here, I needed new ones bad.

I live in Texas, and I'm looking at ordering some Alexander Daas frames online. About how long does shipping usually take?

A Ashley B. 3 weeks ago
Mine took about a week to get to me in Florida. So I'd guess something similar for Texas, maybe a bit less if you're closer to California.

For prescription lenses it can take longer, maybe 1-2 weeks depending on the complexity. Just for frames, it's usually faster.

Are their frames actually made in-house, or is it just another designer brand outsourcing everything?

L Leah J. 4 weeks ago
AFAIK, their 'Heritage' collection is designed by Alexander Daas himself and has a lot of attention to detail, so it's not just a rebranded thing.

They're a luxury brand, so while some components might be from specialized manufacturers, the design and quality control are definitely focused on their brand. They're not just slapping their name on generic frames.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting some new glasses from Alexander Daas. Anyone know if they have any sales coming up soon or like a first-time buyer discount?

S Sean J. 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they usually do a newsletter sign-up discount, like 10% off for your first order. I got it last time.

M Matt Rodriguez 2 weeks ago
They have sales sometimes, especially around Black Friday or end of year. But those are usually for specific frames, not everything. I think the newsletter is your best bet for a general discount.

How are Alexander Daas frames compared to like, Oliver Peoples or Garrett Leight? Worth the higher price tag?

A Aaron Hernandez 1 month ago
IMO, Alexander Daas definitely holds up. The quality feels more substantial than Oliver Peoples sometimes, especially the acetate. They feel really premium.

Yeah, if you're into unique designs and really solid construction, I think they're worth it. My Daas frames have lasted way longer than some of my Garrett Leights.

Does Alexander Daas take vision insurance? I have VSP and wondering if I can use it there for a new pair of frames.

B Barbara Lopez 3 weeks ago
They do take some insurance, but it's not all plans. Best to call their store or check their website for a list of accepted providers. I know they take a few, but definitely confirm.

I used my EyeMed there last year, so they're pretty good about working with different providers. Just make sure to ask them beforehand what exactly is covered.
